FAQs

Why do we use dogs?

Dogs have already been proven to detect cancers, diabetes, seizures, etc. Why not use dogs to detect COVID-19? Our training process is faster, more efficient, and significantly reduces false positives. Our dogs can smell 625 times lower concentrations of odors. Dogs have 300 million scent receptors, compared to a human’s 6 million.

How does it work?

When doing on-site COVID screening, our dogs will be in a temperature-controlled, air-conditioned environment, such as an entryway to a building whenever possible. As quickly as a person can walk past our medical canines, this is how fast our canines are able to greet the person and detect if the COVID virus scent is present. We can screen over 150 people an hour. Once our specially trained medical detection dogs have detected a positive COVID indication, the individual will be gently escorted to a designated location, such as a nurse’s office or medical station on the premises. We will then confirm the positive test indication with a clinical comparison rapid test.

How do we train these dogs?

Our dogs follow the same FDA and TSA protocols through proper smell sensitivity training. Our dogs are trained in the most gentle, rewarding manner. The original training phase for biotech discovery was in process for over 9 months. Now we can actually train our canines with a tightened protocol that takes 6-8 weeks.

Is it safe for dogs?

Scientists have found that although COVID-19 is a novel virus that originated from animals and was passed on to humans, no dogs have become ill from Covid-19. Our medical canines are safe.
